The Need
Whether on Twitter, Facebook, or Tumblr, many teenagers find themselves surrounded by an endless number of social media sites. However, many are finding that there isn’t a place to really gain a voice- a place to be heard. While many underestimate our generation today for their lack of knowledge and awareness of issues affecting our society, the core root of the problem seems to be that there is not a place to filter their opinions, and hear the voices that are usually hidden.
The Solution
Our goal at #RealTalk is to facilitate the opinions and thoughts of students, and give teenagers a voice in our community. Through an online radio and podcasts we aim to unite the teenage community by engaging teens to listen, talk, and gain awareness, of today’s trending issues and topics ranging from religion to pop culture. By scrutinizing trends and current event, our goal is to provide teens with a place to speak freely, and learn from one another. While many underestimate today’s generation, we strive to create a forum to give teenagers the opportunity to do more. By doing so we finally grant teenagers a place to voice their opinions, speak their minds and gain perspective on the world we live in today.
